Hey, I’m Jose Armando Rodriguez Sanchez—a Biomedical Engineering student at Tufts who’s just trying to figure out how to make science and engineering more useful and accessible for real people. I grew up in Arkansas after moving from Mexico, and that experience shaped a lot of how I see the world. I care a lot about disability awareness, inclusive education, and finding ways to bring community into STEM spaces.
I’ve worked on a few projects that blend engineering with outreach—like starting The Army of Friendship Organization and running some awareness campaigns like Run for Hope. I’m also into cellular microscopy, prosthetics, and health tech, especially when it connects back to everyday challenges people face. Whether it's research or organizing something meaningful, I like being part of things that bring people together.
Outside of academics, I’m involved in student leadership and campus life, trying to be a voice for accessibility and wellness where I can. I don’t have everything figured out, but I’m learning as I go, trying to stay grounded and intentional in what I do. It’s not about changing the world overnight—just doing the little things that add up.

29 June 2023 - Speeches and Remarks
Colleges and universities have a responsibility to foster a diverse and inclusive community that reflects the rich tapestry of our society. While the Supreme Court's ruling is a blow to this objective, it is essential for educational institutions to stay true to their DEI initiatives and find alternative ways to ensure equitable access to higher education for all students.

After winning a second term as the Class of 2026 Senator, Chair-Elect Jose Armando is seeking to find ways to improve the Administration and Policy Committee for the nearly 5,000 undergraduate students on campus.
His goal will be to build collaboration between other senators, students and administration.
